Great site. I just joined the SCVFD and will be coming to Falmouth. I look forward to working with all of you in the very near future. I will say, Falmouth runs as many calls in one month as my station (which I am still a member) in Pa runs in a year. Amazing! Talk to you all soon.

I had 44 years in the Fire service starting as a call FF on Martha's Vineyard Island and retiring as Chief of the Falmouth Fire Department on Cape Cod. I wondered where Falmouth VA was and if it was close enough to stop on my way to Florida and could not find it on the map. It appears as if it is just North of Fredricksberg. You have a great web site. Our Department covers 42 Square miles out of 5 stations supply Fire and advanced life support service.

Hello,

A photo was posted a while back to one of the Fire Truck sites, of a mid 60s 4x4 Dodge with Oren Fire Body. Photo was with Falmouth markings, person posting photo said truck went to NC after you all had it.

Anyone know more about this old truck, have additional photos etc. I'm always interested in old Dodge Fire Trucks.

THANKS,

Nollie

Hey guys greetings from the land of sunshine. I am a past member of your Company and a charter member of the Famouth Fire Rescue Assn. I started with Falmouth as a Jr. Fire Fighter at the old building on Hwy 1 and progressed From Firefighter to Engineer to Chief Engineer to LT. over a 15 year time span under of all people Chief Billy Shelton. I just wanted to say hi and ask a favor if possible. During our moving around the country I misplaced or it was stolen my Shadow box with the Departments patch and My old Lt's badge in it. Is it some way possible that you could help me replace them. They were very a special part of good times past with my brothers in arms and whatever you could I would be greatful. You guys are the true heros of america. You do a dirty, dangerous, and thankless job day in and day out I salute you and thank you.

I was proud to serve as a volunteer for Sta.1 back in the mid 90's. It is great to see you guys are still going strong and kicking butt as usual. I loved the website and really enjoyed the video, it brought back so many great memories. It's great to see all those young faces carrying on the great traditions of FVFD, it's really cool seeing some of those old guys still hanging around too. Anyone wanting get in touch, drop me a line sometime.

For all you readers out there:

This Fire Station got together to provide my grandchildren a very, very Merry Christmas. They provided new top quality bicycles, helmets, clothing, and other necessities AND fun things for them.

To the Volunteer Fire Fighters: I cannot say how very honored I am to know that you have sacrificed your own personal financial needs and given to them.

Thank you so much for responding to our RV fire on December 8th. Your quick actions saved both of our homes located on the property. This is the second time this year our family has needed the services of the fire department. My son was flown out after a dirt bike accident in May. Imagine my husbands suprise to wake up on Sunday morning with firemen pulling hoses up our driveway. I am sure the quick response saved our family from an even bigger loss. While the motor home is a total loss, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping the fire from taking over our home. Kim Hatcher

Tech. Darren I think you did a great job with the girls from our Brownie Troop 84. They had alot of questions and so did some of the moms, including me. You took time and had alot of patience with us. I appreciate it. Everyone needs fire safety reminders. You did a fantastic job! Thanks so much for taking the time for us.

Brownie Troop #84 would like to thank Technician Dyke for the great fire station tour!! Our twelve girls had so fun, and they learned alot, too.

For example, my own daughter came home and drew up two alterative escape plans for everyone in our family; picked out a designated meeting place for us; put a whistle by her headboard in case she needs to wake us up at night; and even sat me down and explained how I would have to be responsible for getting out her brother (who is handicapped) because he would not understand what was happening or be able to remember the escape plan. Wow! And I heard similar stories from other families.

The presentation, film, tour and information packet were all first rate; and he was exceptionally patient when dealing with the girls and their questions. (You can tell he's a dad, too!) So many thanks from Troop 84! They think Technician Dyke is the best! Ollie Green, Troop Leader
